Charles, KG4KCT, announces that there’s a ". 275 Youth Group", an informal "rag chew" group, on Saturdays, at 9:00 PM Eastern, on 7.275 MHz or +/- 10 KHz. While this is primarily a youth group, all Amateurs are encouraged to check-in!

The Grand Strand Amateur Radio Club 6 Meter Net operates every Thursday night immediately following the Grand Strand Amateur Radio Club 2 Meter Net.

The 2 Meter Net begins at 8:00 PM. This makes the 6 Meter Net start time "variable", depending on the number of checkins and the amount of traffic on the 2 Meter net. In most cases, it begins at 8:15 PM, but it has started as early as 8:02 PM (if there is no Net Control present for the 2 Meter Net) and has started as late as 8:40 PM.

The frequency is 52.525 FM Simplex. We chose that frequency in hopes that we would get more checkins, since the band is basically unpopulated in this area. If the frequency is occupied we may move the net or ask permission of the occupying station(s) to run the net on frequency.

We're averaging 5 checkins per net. Currently the NCS (me every time so far) is using a horizontally polarized 5 element beam. If you don't hear the net at first, be patient as the antenna gets pointed in your direction. I start pointed north and work my way via the west and end up the net pointed south.
