| The 2008 Jamboree-on-theAir (JOTA) will be held on 18-19 October 2008. Setup will begin on the Friday preceding. | |
| The primary location will be at Oscar AI4SS's Farm on River Road, John's Island, SC. Other locations will be announced as details become available. | |
| Amateur Radio operators will operate HF stations to allow Scouts and Leaders to make contact with other JOTA sites worldwide. All operations will be done from generator power. | |
| Scouts will be provided the opportunity to attend Amateur Radio and electronics classes to help them in obtaining related merit badges and other awards. | |
| Scouts and leaders, along with some volunteers, will campout at the site. | |
